Lysis of Adhesions

"Back pain can sometimes be caused by adherent scar tissue that develops near the spinal cord and nerve roots. Lysis of adhesions is a procedure to remove or destroy these scar tissue adhesions to relieve pain and improve function. Lysis of adhesions is often performed for the relief of persistent pain in the lower back after spine surgery. It may also be used to treat pain that develops after surgery to the sacroiliac joint between the spine and pelvis. Lysis of adhesions is occasionally performed in the cervical spine to relieve neck pain."
